Mutton / Lamb Chops in Fried Egg | Crispy Fried Mutton Chops

Another way of having mutton chops with fired egg

Ingredients for Marinate

  • 5 fresh mutton/lamb chops
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4th tsp turmeric powder
  • pinch of asafoetida (hinga)
  • salt to taste

Preparing the Marinate

  • add garlic & ginger paste, red chilli, garam masala, turmeric powder, hinga and salt.
  • add very little oil and mix the spices well
  • apply these mixed spices on both sides of the mutton chop
  • keep aside the marinate for atleast 15-20 mins

    Cooking the mutton chops in pressure pan/cooker

    • Add 1 tbsp oil in a pressure pan (if lamb chops are used, user less oil as lamb has a bit more fat than mutton/goat)
    • add the marinated lamb chops in the pan
    • add very little water just enough for them to cook, as this dish is a dry dish, make sure to add very less water
    • cover the pressure pan, and make 4-5 whistles or until they are cooked

    Get the egge ready to fry the chops

    • meanwhile our mutton chops are cooking
    • beat an egg in a big bowl with some salt to taste

    Fry the mutton chops

    • Once the pressure pan cools, open the pan
    • In another frying pan, add 1 tbsp oil
    • dip the cooked lamb chop in the beaten egg one at a time, from all sides
    • and place them on the hot pan
    • cook the chops from both sides for 3-4 mins or till the time the egg coating is cooked
    • once the egg coating is cooked, take tham out and server hot, and enjoy !!!
